Pine & Oak Honey
Nestled among the majestic mountain ranges of central Greece, where colonies of bees migrate during the summer months, those lucky enough to wander the serene mountain paths can witness a wonderful symphony of lush foliage and flowering flora. The abundant groves consisting of majestic beech, oak and pine trees provide an ideal haven for bees to forage and thrive.
The bee collects honeydew from certain trees such as oak and pine, resulting in the creation of forest honey, which is known for its dark and almost black liquid form. Once crystallized, it takes on a pleasant brown hue. Its aroma can vary and can evoke memories of dry leaves in the undergrowth of the forest. When consumed, forest honey offers a sweet and woody experience, often with subtle notes of tea and mint.
